Designer Nicole McLaughlin has officially revealed her latest upcycling project, crafting custom Oakley Golf Bag Jackets from vintage equipment. Known for her functional transformations of sports gear, McLaughlin’s newest experiment turns archival golf bags into a pair of one-off wearable jackets.

McLaughlin takes to Instagram to show the process of transforming the bags into leather motocross-inspired leather jackets. Starting with a collection of vintage Oakley golf bags, McLaughlin dismantled the original builds while still taking into account the branding, to repurpose their core functional elements. The resulting outerwear pieces integrate the bags' oversized brand logos, utility pockets, carrying straps, and durable technical panels directly into the jacket silhouettes. By retaining these structural details, the custom designs preserve the distinct visual language and hardware of the original golf gear.

Bringing the experiment back onto the green, one of the finished custom jackets was recently worn by professional golfer Paris Hilinski, highlighting the practical utility of the upcycled technical concept.
