Following closely on the heels of Ronnie Fieg’s milestone 15th-anniversary restoration project and the reveal of the extensive Chapter IV apparel and accessories collection, Kith and BMW have officially unveiled the automotive centerpieces of their latest reunion. For the fourth chapter of their ongoing partnership, the duo presents a conceptual bridge between the German automaker’s past and present, celebrating the legacy of its first-ever Sports Activity Vehicle through two bespoke, one-of-one builds: a meticulously restored 2000 BMW X5 E53 and an all-new 2027 BMW X5. The two models showcase Fieg's distinctive design lens applied across distinct eras of BMW's engineering lineage.
Looking back, Fieg and BMW spent over a year executing a comprehensive rotisserie restoration of the first-generation 2000 BMW X5 E53. Finished in its original Titanium Silver Metallic, this bespoke model hides a massive powertrain conversion beneath its hood, featuring a custom-integrated 5.0-liter S85 V10 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. While retaining the factory all-wheel-drive system, the performance is drastically enhanced by a custom exhaust system, BMW M Sport brakes, and a recalibrated suspension. Inside, the fully customized cabin is draped in black leather with all-over Kith monogram embossing, complete with collaborative branding integrated seamlessly into the instrument cluster.
At the opposite end of the timeline, the 2027 BMW X5 by Kith introduces the model’s fifth generation and marks the first entirely new X5 body design to debut in more than eight years. Emphasizing a minimalist, monolithic aesthetic, the vehicle features uninterrupted exterior surfaces devoid of seals and door handles, complemented by double-X headlights and an illuminated kidney grille. Operating on an updated inline six-cylinder B58 engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system, the contemporary SAV pays homage to its predecessor with an exclusive Frozen Titanium Silver paint finish. The cabin mirrors the vintage build's luxury with monogram-embossed black leather, K&K Crest embroidery, BMW M Carbon Sport front seats, and a panoramic skyroof.
The bespoke vehicles arrive as part of the Kith for BMW 2026 collection, which is currently available via Kith's webstore, app and flagships.
