Located in Cergy-Pontoise—approximately 45 minutes northwest of downtown Paris on the former site of the Mirapolis amusement park—the facility will serve as one of three new theme parks planned for the area. The overarching development is spearheaded by Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, operating under a total budget of €6 billion EUR (approximately $7 billion USD).

The project stems from ongoing discussions between Macron and bin Salman regarding shared interests in manga and anime culture. In an official statement, President Macron emphasized that the investment aims to foster international partnership while driving local employment, projecting that the three-park project will generate roughly 22,000 new jobs.
