He confirmed that both he and the studio were uninvolved in shaping the creative direction for the upcoming season of The Last of Us, which is scheduled to return to screens in 2027.

Stepping back from the television spotlight does not mean the studio is abandoning the property. Druckmann affirmed the developer's continued ownership of the franchise, stating that as the creator of the games, Naughty Dog remains the steward of the IP. He teased that the studio currently has a couple projects in the works that he remains excited to discuss when the time is right.

Druckmann and Naughty Dog are currently deep into active development on a brand-new project titled Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Bringing his focus back to the native gaming medium, Druckmann is serving a dual role by co-directing and co-writing the new title.
